Have you ever walked into an office reception or dentist reception, and seen someone fingering the flowers? It is amazing how artificial flowers and artificial plants have the really alive look. The quality of artificial flowers has improved out of sight over the years, and investing in them will save you a lot of dollars, and also, if you look after them, you will be able to keep them for many years.
About 12 years ago a shop opened up in our town which only sold artificial flowers and artificial pot plants. At the time I remember thinking, thats risky, that wont last long. Well, all these years on it is still there and many businesses have come and gone since it opened. What even amazes me more is the fact that it is not a small shop, it is relatively quite large with a huge amount of stock on display.
Artificial flowers are much better quality now than they have ever been. The colours are so real, the shadings are breathtaking, and it is no wonder that they look so real. I wonder if you have ever felt you just had to touch those flowers on display, to see if they are real or not.
Do you know where they work so well in a house? In the bathroom. Bathrooms are nearly always at the back of the house and more often than not, they have smallish windows. So, to brighten up the room you can have some artificial flowers. It works a treat.
Any room in the house that is on the darker, colder side of the house can benefit from an arrangemet of artificial flowers, or an artificial plant. Few pot plants do well in this situation, and real flowers do not last that long either.
Dont be tempted to just stick some flowers in a vase. If you get an artificial arrangement made it will last for a really long time, and if you have several of them you can swap them around to add some variety. Store them with care. Put them in plastic bags to keep the dust off, and they will last for ages.
Artificial flowers have a place in our lives as they can be used for so many different purposes. It may be for home decoration, workplace decoration, and then again it may be for a special occasions like a wedding.
For weddings and other functions in cold climates artificial flowers can be used with the knowledge that they will not die before the big event.
I would suggest you do not give artificial flowers as a gift, unless specifically asked for, but they most certainly do a great job in the house. They require less attention and you are not under pressure to change them or the water every few days.
